Why C3 Needs to “Raise the Roof”

Our C3 Raise the Roof Campaign is set to kick off!  Our Benefit Food Truck Rodeo is only two days away! While we have said much about the bargains and the food, perhaps we haven’t fully explained why Cary Creative (reuse) Center (“C3”) needs to raise money.  The short answer?  WE NEED MORE SPACE!

This is what it sounds like:

“Wow, you have a lot of stuff in here!”

“There’s so much to look at, I hardly know where to start!”

“You guys really need a BIGGER SPACE!”

So true!  We have a preponderance of stuff artfully tucked into every nook and cranny of the store.  And for every item you see, there’s at least two more of each in our warehouse!

C3 moved into our little building in 2012, and since then we’ve received over 100,000 pounds of donations. In just two short years!  That’s a lot of materials moving through C3! Materials that are not clogging our local landfills.  Thanks to generous customers like you, our donations are up 155% from our first year.  C3 has finally reached critical mass.  We need more space!  We need a new place!  We need to “Raise the Roof!”

A bigger space will allow us to continue doing what we do best.  We want to continue diverting materials from our local landfills, and promote reuse of those materials through the arts.  We want to be able to more easily process and display donated materials to make sure they reach the customers that need them.  We want to continue donating materials to local schools.  We want to be able to offer more classes and other activities to promote reuse and creativity in our community.

We need your help. Please consider donating your time, buying a bracelet, making a monetary donation, or simply attending one of our campaign events such as Saturday’s Food Truck Rodeo.  Help us continue to Make Art, Not Waste.
